How we would work with you to implement Work Structuring
A small dedicated team of Work Structuring advisors, working alongside company representatives provide training, advice and support. Transferring the required knowledge and skills to the organisation during the initial reorganisation and establishing the knowledge base for future use.
We will build a bespoke programme with you to include some or all of the following:
- Introductory session to explain background, principles and methods of Work Structuring.
- Training session to start application of Work Structuring to your company. This generally takes 2-5 days depending on size and complexity of the organisation.
- Ongoing advice and support throughout implementation period.
- Further training sessions as required to cover later stages in the restructure.
- Work full-time for the first few months to establish change programme.
What does Work Structuring deliver?
Work Structuring has a proven track record of delivering a robust, solid foundation for long term business improvements including, improved efficiency, cost saving, increased morale, matching empowerment with accountability, enhanced customer service and alignment of the support functions.
What will Work Structuring mean for you?
A straightforward, 'feels right' philosophy and approach that will enable you to not only obtain substantial, wide ranging improvements through initial redesign; but also build a solid foundation for the future, by using and establishing internal expertise.
How does Work Structuring differ from other methods?
Work Structuring is truly holistic. It encompasses process, people and skills, and organisational structure working at all levels within the business. Many other business improvement methods tackle only one of these aspects in isolation of the others. They are so heavily interrelated, however, that efficiency and effectiveness will only be optimised if they are considered as parts of a complex system.
Companies are still using this methodology 10 years after the initial change programme.
Distinctive features
- Work Structuring Ltd combines the process analysis and streamlining work processes with a coherent way of integrating the new improved processes into a compatible 'value-adding' new organisational structure. Other consultancies have expertise either in process decomposition or organisational design - hardly ever in both.
- WSL has a unique method of business process analysis entitled 'Information Profiling'. It tracks processes in an objective way. Information Profiling is also much more cost effective than some computer modelling techniques.
- WSL makes use of two important and unique organisational tools for building up an organisation best suited to the streamlined process. Transformational Analysis identifies the key 'value-adding' stages of the process. TIED Analysis analyses the strength of the relationship between any two activities, whether they be small elements of work or large clusters such as whole departments or functions. The correct use of these tools guarantees that the organisation centres efficiently around the key value-adding activities of the Company.
- WSL has a value system which is people centred and holistic. It will maximise job satisfaction and creative opportunity for the staff involved.
- WSL has a proven track record in the application of 'Systems thinking' to complex businesses. The methodology calls upon a range of dispassionate and objective organisation tools, over twelve in number, to assist both in the analysis and subsequent redesign of the new organisational structure.
- WSL uses a small amount of consultancy time and effort to achieve a large benefit for the client on a short time frame.
